I Walk For Life
Melissa Etheridge took the same journey through cancer that I did. She wrote this song, and it is so true. Thought I'd share it. Here she is on Oprah Winfrey singing for all of us.
It's called: I Run For Life
October 16 - 18, 2009
The red-brick colonial homes, cobblestone alleys and a green oasis make it easy to forget your 3-Day journey winds through a major metropolis. Translated from Greek, Philadelphia means “City of Brotherly Love” and you’ll feel the love as the people of this great city cheer you on along the 3-Day route.Registered walkers must be 16 years old by the end of 2009 and agree to raise a minimum of $2,300 for the Breast Cancer 3-Day benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, in order to walk.
I am taking donations for the 3-Day Walk coming up in October. As a breast cancer survivor, I want to walk for those who have not made it, for those like me who survived so far, and for those who are in the midst of the battle. I have been cancer-free since 2007. My mother died from cancer in October 2007. I can run, but I can walk for life.
If you feel in your heart that you would like to make a donation, that would be grand. If you can't, that's okay, too. Just stop a moment and say a prayer for all those folks who are one the road of life.
I Walk For Life!
